Due to popular demand we have re-introduced the 'All Dressed Up' sessions! Why only wear your wedding dress once, lets get dressed up again, relive the emotions of your big day and let us do the rest by creating some amazing images for you to cherish forever! We don't want to 'Trash the Dress' we want to create beautiful images of couples in love in amazing environments and present these beautifully in an album or as wall art. A perfect compromise if you couldn't get the photographs you really wanted on your big day! The 'All Dressed Up' sessions can also be used for couples who just want to get dressed up and have some fun and record a special time in their lives. Included in the sessions is an initial consultation to discuss your personal requirements and decide on a theme for the session. Sessions last up to 3 hours on the day with optional hair and make up. You can choose to present your photographs in a bespoke 10 page album or alternatively as a special peice of wall art. The perfect anniversary gift or just as special gift to say 'I love You'! Sessions start at £395. Please contact us for further information at info@nicholasfrostphotography.co.uk ~ We are always amazed when an album comes back from Queensberry of New Zealand. From the packaging through to the pristine finish of each hand made page and the beautiful leather covers the quality is just breath taking. Every album is designed in our Aberdeen Studio by Nicholas or Carol utilising the amazing selection of options available from the Queensberry range. Every single album is different, we dont use templates we create every bespoke design to compliment your photographs! Once the design is complete, Queensberry take over and hand build each album. This whole process from start to finish usually takes around 8 weeks. Audrey and Lee's album came back this week and we thought we'd share it with you.
Two fantastic weddings from last weekend. Krista and Daniel were married at Mannofield Church with the reception at Ardoe House Hotel, both made the journey over from Canada for their big day. Emily and Adrian both of Aberdeen were married at Mansion House Hotel in Elgin, a lovely venue for a lovely couple who were alot of fun to photograph. Congratulations to both couples and look forward to designing the album with you.
~ Wedding season is slowly winding down and we are delighted with how our year has gone, we have had the privelage of photographying many amazing couples! If you havent booked in to come back in to select your wedding album then please book in as soon as possible to ensure your album is back for Christmas! As the weddings wind down we are fast approaching the Christmas portrait season. To avoid the last minute rush and dissapointment make sure you book in your sessions as soon as possible, the cut off for orders to ensure delivery for Christmas will be the 1st December, sessions need to be completed by mid/late November. ~ We had a lot of fun photographying the wedding of Lynn & David at Thainstone House Hotel in Aberdeenshire on Saturday. I hope you enjoy this sneak preview of your photographs before you head off on honeymoon!
~ It was a rainy day, for Helen and Jay, at Pittodrie House Hotel today! It was smiles not frowns, a stunning Ian Stuart gown, and dancing till the sun went down. :D A little corny poetry to reflect on what was indeed a beautiful day. Congratulations Helen and Jay (and for being such good fun)!
~ Well it's been 2 and a half years and finally Jamie-lee and Nathan's big day arrived. 220 guests and a full pipeband to photograph was a little daunting but all had a wonderful day and we wish Jamie-lee and Nathan all the best for the future.
~ What an amazing day we had with Suzanne and Robbie on Sunday who were married at St Machars Cathedral, Aberdeen. Dodging the rain showers we had fantastic fun and even managed to get on the other side of the camera, scary! Congratulations to you both and look forward to seeing you both soon!
~ After what looked like it was going to be a complete washout with the heavy wind and rain, we had the most amazing day today with Avril and Danny at Fyvie Castle and Meldrum House Hotel. Who said you couldn't strike a pose Avril - you looked gorgeous! Sorry about the cat....
~ I'm afraid our satnav didn't work for this weeks wedding that took place on a North East estate with the most amazing marquee constructed in the middle of a field! No green wellies or bunnets though - instead Jimmy Choo's and top hats for Phillipa and Johnny's big day. You were a pleasure to photograph, congratulations to you both.
~ Congratulations to Lisa and Kevin. Lisa and Kevin may have been nervous about their photography last weekend but as you can see Lisa looked beautiful and Kevin, well you looked very nice too! All the very best and look forward to seeing you both when you retrn from Thialand.
~ Another beautiful weekend and a fantastic wedding to photograph. Gemma and Nicky got married at the Marcliffe Hotel in Aberdeen with an outdoor ceremony. Apart from a zip going on a bridesmaid dress before the ceremony Gemma and Nicky had a fantastic day, have a lovely honeymoon!
~ This week just keeps getting better and better! I have just found out that I am a finalist in the prestigious Kodak Wedding and Portrait Awards 2010! ~ 18 Reasons to go with Nicholas Frost Photography! We are still a little shell shocked after returning from the 2010 Scottish Master Photography Awards held at Dunblane Hydro on Monday evening. We were awarded 18 different awards in total! Nicholas was awarded the Scottish MPA Under 5's Photographer of the Year and also gained 7 other Awards of Excellence and Certificates of Merit in both classic and contemporary portraiture and wedding photography categories! Carol had a fantastic evening and was awarded the Scottish MPA Overall Most Promising Photographer of the Year, along with Most Promising Classical Wedding and Most Promising Contemporary Wedding Photographer of the Year along with 7 other Awards of Excellence and Cerificates of Merits in Portraiture and Wedding categories. Thank you to our clients for a fantastic year and we hope to keep creating fantastic images over the next 12 months. Below are the winning images!
~ What an amazing day we had on Saturday. We had the privelage of photographing Gemma and Paul's wedding at Dunblane Cathedral and then on to Dunmar House Hotel, Alloa for their wedding reception. We thought we had seen it all, that is until the best mans speech! A re-inactment of Braveheart's 'Freedom' scene adapted for marriage was absolutely hilarious! All the very best to a fantastic couple and look forward to seeing you again at the album selection.
- Last minute change of venue, volcanic ash threatening the majority of guests coming up from London and a honeymoon change three days before due to a home office warning didn't stop Lisa and Tom having a fantastic wedding day last Saturday! With their wedding ceremony at Cragiebuckler Church and then the reception at Glen Tanar, Lisa and Tom couldn't of asked for a nicer day. Congratualtions to you both!
- We had the pleasure of photographing Anna and Darran's Wedding on another lovely sunny day at Pittodrie House Hotel, Aberdeenshire. Congratulations to Anna, Darran and their 6 month old daughter Sophie.
- Now we can't guarantee to win you Bride of the Week in the Evening Express but we must be doing something right to have two bride of the weeks in two consecutive weeks! Here's hoping either Lisa & Keith or Helen & Neil can win their second Honeymoon at the Bride of the Year ball! - Congratulations to Estelle and Malcolm who recently go married at St Machars Cathedral and Ardoe House Hotel on what seemed like a lovely summers day in March!

I would like to introduce you to GAZOU, a new Stock Library featuring stunning images from the very highest, inaccessible peaks of Scotland down to the coastal beaches and forest floors, as well as the finest international cityscapes and places of worldwide beauty and interest. GAZOU is not a typical stock image library. GAZOU’s team of contributors are generally mountaineers and outdoor enthusiasts who’ve reached the remotest corners of Scotland’s mountain ranges in often the most extreme winter conditions. GAZOU’s library provides rights-managed stock images for use by web designers, media companies, local authorities, airports and travel companies for all manner of marketing and promotional campaigns. GAZOU also introduces the novel “bundle rights” concept, which gives the buyer and user more freedom when purchasing multiple licenses for an image. Please have a look at our e-brochure HERE We are looking for contributors, please send submissions to NFP Studio or email me some images to review. - The start of a New Wedding Season began last Saturday. We had the pleasure of photographing Lisa and Keith's big day at Kings College Chapel and then onto Norwood Hall hotel, Aberdeen. Please get in touch if you think you have a collection of images suitable for inclusion in the library and I will tell you more. - Well, the last five weeks have been interesting to say the least, Eilidh is keping us busy, although I have to admit she is fantastic! I was dreading our first wedding after 4 weeks of deprived sleep. Last weekend, 14th November 2009, we had the pleasure of photographing Lynn and Mark's Big Day at Drumtochty Castle. The weather, should we say wasn't the best, heavy rain and wind, even so the couple had a great day and where more than happy to dodge outside in the breaks to capture some amazing photographs, below is a few images from Lynn and Mark's day.
HERE SHE IS!
The Importance of using a Qualified MPA Photographer. Below is a link to a newspaper article which has been in the press this week. The moral of the story is you get what you pay for from your wedding photography, you only have one chance no matter what the weather or circumstances that are thrown at you! Do your research, if we aren't available on your wedding day or you would like some advice we are more than happy to assist you to find the right photographer for you! http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/howaboutthat/6263595/Couple-sue-wedding-photographer.html Comment from the Chief Executive of the Master Photographers Association: I was appalled to read about the West Yorkshire newlyweds, Marc and Sylvia Day, who had to sue their wedding photographer for producing shoddy wedding photographs and video. The photographer in question was not charging cheap prices either, so how can couples be assured that the photographer they choose is not going to make a mess of things? The answer is simply to entrust this most important event to a Master Photographer. The Master Photographers Association is the only trade body in the UK to insist its members are full-time professionals and are qualified to a high minimum standard. They also follow a strict code of conduct and carry the appropriate insurance. The bungling photographer, Gareth Bowers, was not an MPA member, but appears to have been a former member of the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers - a privately run society which does not enforce the strict entry criteria of the Master Photographers Association. I'll be discussing the benefits of using a Master Photographer in a radio interview booked for next week. Colin Buck - Another month and another Gold Award from the SWPP/BPPA. This months award is for the Pregnancy Portraiture category, the photograph below is Susi an existing wedding client and I expect now a proud mum.
We are delighted have been NOMINATED for a VOWS Award for the second year running in the photography category. The VOWS Awards are for outstanding service in the wedding industry in Scotland. The absolutely amazing thing about the VOWS Awards is that it's our clients who have helped us to reach the finals! We are thrilled to be one of the final eight in the photography category who are invited to attend the glittering awards ceremony in Glasgow in November. This nomination is very important to us as not only does it tell us that you like our photography, but our service is great too! A big thank you to everyone who has taken the time to vote for us.
October is fast approaching and is going to be a SPECIAL MONTH for Carol and myself as we are expecting our first child, he/she is probably going to be the most photographed child in Scotland!
